New place on the market and on our to do list... BUENA VISTA RESTAURANT. Placed on Petru Movila street No. 43 with a very interesting background (as in" mise an scene" but also as in history).
The owner of the restaurant used his previous experience with Monte Carlo restaurant from Copou and set up and built a pretty nice place. The building has 3 levels : the bar, the non-smoking salon and the attic. The restaurant was built in such a way to satisfy everyones wishes. If you are a football fan you can come and watch it at the bar ....but be careful and make a reservation cause you rarely manage to find a table there. Going out with your family , kids , mother-in-law (that hates you smoking) ? The perfect place is the non-smoking salon. Business or just pleasure? The attic gives a homelike feeling . Best to rent the whole floor for intimate parties.
The restaurant has a South American note. What i loved there was the spicy pan (tigaie picanta)...spicy indeed... I also tried the Papas a la Huancaina as a starter....yummy.
So far so good! Let's see if they can keep up the good work!

OSCAR RESTAURANT-Traditional Romanian Food
It's placed on Lascar Catargi Street , No. 16.
It's specific is traditional Romanian food. They have large plates and resonable prices and it's one of the best in Iasi after a recent statistic.
MY OPINION:
I went there last year with my sister and a very good friend of ours that just came to Iasi. I thought of taking good care of him and that i should take him to one of the finest restaurants that i know. Oscar came to my mind . We sat down at the last available table on the terrace and enjoying our conversation. A nice lady brought us menus and after a short while we were ready to order ... and we waited....and then waved ..and nothing. We were invisible. After that we started laughing though we were starving to death ...and making jokes. After 20 minutes a nice and thin lady takes our order . After 10 minutes she manages to bring us our drinks and in 45 minutes we had our food on the table.
I don't know if it's me but wasn't that a long time to wait in such a famous restaurant?
The owner should hire more waiters and maybe 2 chefs as well. He should get more appliances for the kitchen so chefs could cook more at one time. Lots of minuses in y opinion. Train the waiters to explain to the customers that their food will take more time than usual because it's crowded .

LA CAO- CHINESE FOOD in iasi
The restaurant is on Smardan street and whenever i want to eat chinese i go there. In my opinion it 's an OK restaurant though the plastic chairs and tables ruin the terrace a bit . What did i order? Well it's the only place where i eat rice and actually enjoy it and go crazy about it. So i had la cao rice, chicken with sesame and a hot plate of hot pork and chicken with 10 ingredients. Yummmy!
What i really didn't like there was how the people stared at me ( the clients not the personal) because of the way i was dressed. Hmm...smart-pants!!!
The food was great as always and the sauce really had me on fire . The only funny thing that happened was when i gave the ordre to the new waitress....she just forgot it on her way to the bar and came back to ask me again but this time with a pen and a piece of paper.
PLUSES: My food was ready in less then 10 minutes , it was what i asked ,all the waitresses were nice .
MINUS: And this is a big minus .... the appearance of the place. It just need 's some fixing up!
